Madam Mayor Zandile Gumede has made a decision to scrap Jacob Zuma’s controversial record deal for his popular song “Struggle”. Tax payers can take a breath of relief. Why this decision took so long to come to, is beyond us. Tax payers money should not be used to finance record deals for the ex-president Jacob Zuma.
“Proper protocol was not followed and that she first heard of the hair-brained scheme when she read of it in the newspapers.”– Mayor Zandile Gumede
Two things are embarrassing here, one, the mayor had no idea auditions were set to begin next month for a mass choir of vocalists to assist Zumas record in the making. Secondly, the fact this idea even came to fruition, why are tax payers paying for an ex-president to record a song? It makes no sense. This just goes to show you how corrupt, broken, and wasteful the South African Parliament is, and what stupid things it allows to happen.
