Today, 23 January marks the one year anniversay of the death of Hugh Ramapolo Masekela. He passed at the age of 78 in a hospital located in Johannesburg. He had finally lost his long battle with prostate cancer.
Hugh Masekela, a.k.a. Bra Hugh was known all around the world as a jazz singer, trumpeter, flugelhornist, bandleader, and composer.
In honor of the one year anniversary, the Hugh Masekela Heritage Foundation will be rededicating itself to elevate his legacy to new heights and make certain his commitment to music was not in vain.
