And so it begins, protestors began to arrive at the Vodacom campus in Midrand to demand teh network pay Nkosana Makate the amount he claims is owed to him.
The giant Vodacom and Makate developed the idea for the ‘Please call me’ message service, and have since been in an on-going payment dispute, one that has now lasted years.
Supporters for Makate have made their vows to boycott Vodacom and any related products, events, and so on if the company does not reach and agreement with Makate.
Makate claims he came up with the idea for the messenging service while and employee for Vodacom.
Byron Kennedy, spokesperson for Vodacom, has closed stores at the campus for the day to ensure the saftey of the staff and customers.
