Yesterday morning in Cape Town a 60-year old man was robbed a knife-point just above Rugby Road on Table Mountain. The assailant stabbed the cyclist before taking off on his bike.
Bernard Berman, the cyclist, was rushed to the hospital to treat his injuries, and is reported to be in good condition.
The suspect has not been identified. The police are currently investigating the case. The Table Mountain Bikers group has taken to social media to voice their concerns and disgust for these actions.
The residents in the area feel violated, not only was his personal property was stolen, but his space was invaded. The area the incident took place, is normally a quiet area, and place of retreat.
Residents and volunteers will meet at the top of Molteno Road at 6pm today.
