The reopening of the ECG church, the location where just last month three women died after being trampled is delayed indefinatly.
The prophet, Bushiri, the leader of the controversial Enlightened Christian Gahtering were instructed to continue thier prays and fasting for 7 more days following the reopening of the church. It was set to open it’s doors again for service on Sunday, however, reports now state that date has been postponed.
The spokesperson for the ECG made a statement to all of the church offices, church leaders, as well as members that the scheduled reopening, originally scheduled for 20 Januray 2019, was postponed. There was no indication on when the church planned to reopen.
The spokeperson stated that they will annouce a new reopen date soon, but in the meantime, none of the church branches shall hold services.
The delay was the result in more headlines regarding the three women who died during the stampeed died.
Protests were staged outside the churches insterest by and group of angry community civic members, following the news that the deceased women were removed without proper procedure.
They are demanded that the so-called propeht be returned to his home country and the church close its doors for good.
